“If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water”
Loren Eiseley, The Immense Journey

Margot Dale Carpenter started Hartdale Maps in 2005. Through her work in cartography, landscape planning and architecture, she has been rendering spatial data in a 2-dimensional format for over 25 years. She has an abiding interest in coastal geomorphology and landscape conservation. When out of the office, Margot can be found surfing, hiking, cycling, canoeing and exploring ways to measure and document the landscape.

 CARTOGRAPHY TOOLKIT
Every project relies on GIS data and the primary programs are Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop with Avenza's MaPublisher and Geographic Imager, respectively, for finished map work. I use QGIS, SAGA, and ArcGIS Pro for preprocessing. Field work relies on a sub-meter GNSS and a compass.
PRO BONO WORK
Hartdale Maps feels strongly about giving back to the community and donates time to non-profit groups working on projects that make a difference. If you have a project in mind, please contact Hartdale Maps.
